Carpet changes resistance, brush load and airflow. A robot that cleans a hard floor efficiently may need different settings once it moves onto a rug. The fit should be checked at the edge, under furniture and during a full cleaning cycle.
Confirm the pile height
Low-pile carpet and flat rugs are the intended fit for most xftech home models. High-pile, shag or very soft carpet can reduce traction and cleaning consistency. Measure the pile and test a small section before scheduling the whole room.
Use the correct brush
A rubber-and-bristle brush can help agitate low-pile fibers, while an anti-tangle brush is useful in homes with pets. Check that the brush is appropriate to the floor and free from wrapped hair. A worn or clogged brush reduces contact even if suction remains high.
Set suction and passes
Use a standard mode for routine maintenance and increase suction for embedded debris or heavy shedding. Two lighter passes can be more effective than one maximum-power pass, especially when battery runtime or noise is a concern.
Protect rug edges
Curled or loose rug edges can stop the robot or cause repeated recovery. Secure the edge, add a no-go zone or choose a route that approaches from a stable side. Test the highest pile or thickest rug separately from hard flooring.
Avoid unnecessary mopping
Use mop lifting or a no-mop zone for carpet wherever the model supports it. H1 Pure and X1 systems provide app controls, but the selected accessory and water level still need to match the rug. Never leave a wet pad in contact with carpet.
Maintenance after carpet cleaning
- Inspect the brush for wrapped fiber and hair.
- Clean the filter more often when carpet dust is visible.
- Check the dust path and dock inlet for compacted debris.
- Review the map after moving rugs or furniture.
When a different model is better
A home with many high-pile rugs, long pet hair and a large cleanable area may be better served by the X1 Pro Max platform than a compact H1. If the main floor is hard surface and carpet is limited to one low-pile rug, H1 Pure may be enough. Match the model to the dominant floor type, not the loudest room in the house.
