X1 Pro and X1 Pro Max are not separated by a different navigation philosophy. Both use LiDAR mapping and app-based room controls. The decision comes down to cleaning capacity, battery coverage and the dock workflow that makes the most sense for the home.
The specification difference
- X1 Pro: 350 x 350 x 99 mm, 9,000 Pa, 5,200 mAh, 2.0 L auto-empty dock and up to 180 sqm nominal coverage.
- X1 Pro Max: 350 x 350 x 103 mm, 12,000 Pa, 6,400 mAh, 2.5 L auto-empty dock and up to 260 sqm nominal coverage.
- Shared: LiDAR mapping, app schedules, no-go zones and low-pile floor support.
Choose X1 Pro when the layout is straightforward
X1 Pro is a strong fit for an apartment or smaller home with mostly hard flooring, a predictable furniture layout and a daily cleaning routine that does not require every new dock feature. The 9,000 Pa system and 180 sqm coverage are easier to justify when the home is under about 160 sqm and the robot can complete the route without recharging.
Choose X1 Pro Max when capacity matters
X1 Pro Max is the better starting point for larger multi-room homes, heavy pet hair and households that want more of the cleaning cycle handled by the dock. The 12,000 Pa suction, larger battery and 2.5 L dock reduce the number of compromises when several rooms, rugs and higher debris volume share one cleaning schedule.
Dock autonomy is part of the comparison
Check the space available for the dock before comparing technology. Both models need a level approach, power and routine service access. X1 Pro Max adds a fuller self-maintenance workflow in supported configurations, including mop washing and warm-air drying. If those tasks are currently part of the weekly routine, the larger platform can remove meaningful manual work.
What both models still cannot do
Neither X1 model is intended for high-pile carpet, outdoor debris, standing water or thresholds above 20 mm. Pet accidents must be removed immediately. A door saddle, curled rug or loose cable should be checked during the first mapping run rather than discovered after a failed schedule.
A simple decision rule
Choose X1 Pro for a focused home with predictable routes and a lower need for full dock autonomy. Choose X1 Pro Max when floor area, pet hair or the desire for more hands-free maintenance makes the larger capacity useful. If the two models are close in price for your market, compare the dock workflow and coverage first, not only raw suction.
